Financial Performance Review

A three-to-four-week diagnostic of margins, cash cycle, and owner drawings for firms that want a clear picture before making the next move.

Financial Performance Review

Who this is for

Owner-managers who know the firm intimately but no longer trust the monthly numbers to tell a clean story. You may be preparing for a bank conversation, a partnership change, a pricing reset, or simply tired of surprises in the cash account.

What you receive

  • A structured review of the last 12–24 months of management accounts, focusing on gross margin by line or department, overhead trajectory, and working capital
  • Clarification of owner drawings, related-party costs, and anything that obscures true operating profit
  • Two working sessions (typically 90 minutes each) to test findings against how the business actually runs
  • A written summary of findings and a short, prioritised list of actions — not a 40-page binder of theory

What is not included

Statutory accounts preparation, tax advice, software implementation, or acting as your bookkeeper. If your records are incomplete, we will say so early and pause rather than invent clarity.

How it runs

  1. Discovery call — confirm fit, scope, and access to accounts.
  2. Document intake — profit & loss, balance sheet, aged receivables/payables, and a brief owner questionnaire.
  3. Analysis — we work through the numbers before we meet again.
  4. Working sessions — walk through findings with the owner (and any finance contact you nominate).
  5. Written summary — delivered within five business days of the final session.

Preparation

You will need recent management accounts (Excel or PDF export is fine), a contact who can answer coding questions, and two blocks of uninterrupted time for the sessions. We ask that bank and accountant relationships remain yours — we advise; we do not replace them.

Pricing basis

Fees are fixed once scope is agreed, typically from NZD 4,800 for a single-entity firm with clean monthly accounts. Multi-entity groups, incomplete records, or on-site work outside Auckland are priced separately after discovery.

Next step

Request a discovery call — we reply within two business days with availability and a short scoping note.
