How Data Progressive collects, uses, and protects personal information in New Zealand.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Enquiry forms: name, email, optional consultation interest, and message content
- Engagements: contact details, business information, and financial documents you supply
- Technical: IP address, browser type, and pages visited when essential or analytics cookies are active (see our Cookie Policy)
We do not seek sensitive information unrelated to an engagement. Please do not submit IRD numbers, full bank passwords, or health information through the website form.
3. Purpose of use
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, deliver consultations, invoice for services, improve site reliability, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
4. Legal basis / principles
We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including principles of purpose limitation, security, and access.
5. Retention
Enquiry messages are kept up to 24 months unless a client relationship continues. Engagement files are retained for at least seven years to meet professional and tax record expectations, then securely deleted or archived as appropriate.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who host email or site infrastructure under confidentiality obligations
- Your nominated accountant, lawyer, or lender when you instruct us to do so
- Authorities when required by law
7. International transfers
Some email or hosting providers may process data in Australia, the United States, or other jurisdictions. Where transfers occur, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards.
8. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to, or correction of, your personal information. Contact info@data-progressive.digital. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure; please use secure channels when sending highly confidential files.
10. Children
Our services are directed to business owners and are not intended for children under 16.

We may update this policy by posting a new version on this page with a revised date.
